On Sunday 11th November at 10am the traditional King Alfred’s Remembrance Day Service organised by the Old Alfredians takes place at the war memorial in the cloisters outside the old school building on Portway. All members of the King Alfred’s community, past and present, are welcome to attend; parents, students, staff and governors.
We will meet outside the new Centre Site Reception building from 9.45am onwards with the service starting at 10am. It is only a short 15 or 20 minute service; the last post is played by one of our students, the names of the fallen are read out by two other students and two more will lay wreaths. The service takes place at this time so that it allows people to go on to attend other local church services if they wish.
You are most welcome to join us in remembering all of those connected with King Alfred’s who lost their lives in the service of their country.
