The AEP Series of talks for 2026-27
Every year, we aim to host about half a dozen academic talks, on a broad range of subjects and topics. These are FREE to our students and staff, and their family members. The talks usually start at 17:00 (check individual talks for details), and they are hosted in one of the large spaces within the school.
The talks strive to introduce our students to different learning experiences and talk styles, as well as a broad range of topics. Students have found the talks helpful in terms of academic enrichment and building on their cultural capital, but also to help them decide between subjects (both at A Level and Degree Level). Attending talks on subjects related to their school subjects can add valuable context to their school learning, making this more memorable. However, attending talks on subjects that at first appear unrelated can reveal surprising and unexpected connections, and being able to talk about these either in an application or in an interview can make a student stand out from the crowd!
