All exam candidates must check this page before each exam season for all exam updates and information. Candidates must read the “Candidate Exam Handbook” and the “JCQ Information for Candidates”. We highly encourage parents to support their candidates in doing this.
Exam season can be a stressful time for candidates, parents and carers, and it is important that all those involved are as well-informed as possible. Please use the below sections to answer Frequently Asked Questions regarding Exams.

JCQ Information for Candidates
The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) is the organisation which represents and coordinates the work of the various exam boards. It publishes a number of very useful documents for students preparing to submit coursework and sit exams and we strongly encourage students and parents to read them.

Summer 2026 External Exam Timetable
Please note that the Summer 2026 External Exam Timetable will be posted at a later date, once all courses and entries are confirmed with candidates in Term 4. After entries are confirmed with candidates, we will post the External Exam Timetable detailing the relevant exams here.
Attendance Requirements
The national Exam Contingency Day for the Summer 2026 External Exam Season is June 24, 2026. All exam candidates must be available until this date to sit external exams.
Year 11 students staying on in the KAs Sixth Form, should remain available for the Sixth Form Induction Days on July 1 and July 2, 2026. Additionally, the Year 13 Prom will be the evening of June 24th and the Year 11 Prom will be the evening of July 2, 2026.
Access Arrangements

Information for Past Candidates
If you are a past candidate from our Centre and are looking for information about results or certificates, please contact the Exams Team at kaexams@kas.cambrianlt.org
Please ensure that the subject line of your email contains “Results”, or “Certificates”, so that your request can be directed to the correct person for action.
Additionally, you must include:
- your name at the time of sitting the exam
 - the type of certificates/results being requested (e.g. GCSE, A Level, or BTEC)
 - the year that you finished the course
 
Certificate collection is available on Monday or Tuesday, and must be booked in advance using the email address noted above. This is to ensure that someone is available to meet you with your requested certificates in a timely manner.
