Our next KAAEP talk promises to be fascinating and thought-provoking in equal measure!
All of our KAAEP talks are FREE to our students, staff and their families, but you do need to book in advance as the talks are often fully booked.
In this talk, Alice will explore how the media (both traditional media and social media) contribute to negative representations of certain places or areas. Alice will draw on her own research as well as contemporary examples, and highlight the ways in which language and the motivations of the media industry can perpetuate these damaging narratives. This particular talk will invite you to engage in some critical thinking regarding motives and biases.
