Fully Funded University of Reading 4 Day Property Course for Year 12s - In-person Event (14-17th July, 2026)
- The Henley Business School runs a residential study programme for Year 12 students.
- All travel, accommodation and food will be paid for.
- Students will continue to be supported after their attendance.

- Students who attend will be invited to carry out a work experience placement in October and participate in an e-mentoring programme.
- This opportunity is ideal for students who have an interest in the property sector and who would like to learn more about the industry. Over the course of four days, your students will: Sit in on taster lectures; Visit a large development site and learn how they operate; Get involved in group projects and debates; Develop key skills such as networking and presentation skills; Attend a mini careers fair with leading names from the industry; Hear from industry professionals about the incredible career opportunities available via degrees and apprenticeships; Stay in our university halls, gaining a first-hand experience of university life.
- The University of Reading will continue to support participating students through their Propel alumni programme sending them relevant information. If they choose to undertake a property industry focused degree or qualification, they will be eligible to apply for up to £30,000 in bursary funding and if they study Real Estate at Reading University they will receive a guaranteed conditional contextual offer plus a welcome bursary.

Free "Navigate: Uncovering Unexpected Apprenticeships" – Virtual Event (Mon May 11, 2026 – 15:30-16:00)

£10 "NHS Allied Healthcare Work Experience session" – Virtual Event (Sunday May 3, 2026 – All day)
- Students will explore the crucial elements of Road Traffic Collisions (RTC) whilst being guided through various allied health careers by exploring the journeys of two patients from initial presentation to full recovery. Students will gain invaluable perspectives on patient care dynamics and the collaborative efforts within the NHS, including exploring careers within: Nursing; Midwifery; Paramedicine; Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy; Dietetics; Radiography; Prosthetics and Orthotics; Speech and Language Therapy; and Pharmacy.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals throughout each day. This will empower students to make informed career decisions and demonstrate their commitment to healthcare in their UCAS applications.
- Once they’ve registered, students will be emailed links to their virtual work experience portals.
- Students are awarded a Work Experience Certificate for every session they complete. Those who complete the full 6-month programme (6 sessions from May to October) will be awarded a Highly Commended Reference from the Presidents of Allied Healthcare Mentor. These are fantastic additions to their CVs!

Free NHS Gap Year Scheme – In-person Event (Wed March 25, 2026 – 3.25pm)
- Open to all parents and students.
- This talk is presented by Caroline Burgess and Michelle Whitcomb and will go over the opportunities for students to apply for a role in Health care during a gap year after Year 13.
- Newbury Street Practice at the Wantage Health Centre on Mably Way, is looking for a young person interested in a one-year placement, predominantly working with the administration of the practice. Regardless of whether they are interested in working within the Health Sector, this is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a team and find out more about the running of a nationwide organisation such as the NHS. If your child is interested in this, please have them come along to this talk.
- Even if you are not in Year 13 currently, this is an established gap year scheme that runs each year so you may see if it is an option for you in the future.
