year group updates
year 7
As part of an annual initiative by Good News for Everyone (formerly Gideons UK), we are able to offer Year 7 students a personal copy of the New Testament and Psalms (New International Version). These are compact, red-covered editions that some families may recognise from previous years. If you would like your child to receive a copy, free of charge, please email Mr Sheppard at wsheppard@kas.cambrianlt.org with the subject line "New Testament and Psalms".

Year 11 Mini mocks will take place next term from Monday 17th November - Monday 24th November inclusive. Most of these will take place in lessons, although students will sit their English, Maths and Science Mocks in a more formal setting. Students and parents will be provided a comprehensive list of things to revise for each of their subjects in a revision booklet next week to help with the preparation for these over the half term break. The booklet will be shared with students on epraise. It will also be sent to parents directly, with a letter explaining the importance of these mini mocks, in particular in informing us about appropriate Tiers of Entry (Foundation or Higher) in Mathematics, Science, French and Spanish. Please can we ask you to go through this revision booklet with your young person to ensure they understand what it is they need to revise and that they have made a plan to do this revision over the half term break (and into the first 2 weeks of Term 2).
The Sixth Form Open Evening is on Thursday 20th November from 5pm-8pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to speak to subject teachers, meet Sixth Form students and hear all about the Sixth Form. More details are on our website.

YEAR 13
The internal deadline for UCAS applications for general entry is Friday 28th November, so students should now have made their course choice, and be finalising their university choices, whilst finishing their Personal Statements. Students will be sitting the in-class mini mock assessments straight after half term, so all students should now be revising the relevant content for these exams. Please can I ask that parents remind their Year 13 children that Tutor Time and PSHCE are compulsory parts of their curriculum and vital opportunities for us to deliver key messages and support to students.
