year group updates
year 7
How fast this year has gone! We can't quite believe our Year 7 cohort have been with us for a whole year already. Thank you to all students - well done for an excellent first year at King Alfred's. You are an incredible year group that Mrs Wilkins and Mr Sheppard are very proud of. Keep up the good work into Year 8 and have a great Summer in the meantime.
Please support your child to bring a water bottle to ensure they can keep hydrated over the last week of the Summer term.
year 8
This week, Year 7 and Year 8 students were joined in assembly by Mr Pitts, our Head of Wellbeing, who spoke about the importance of staying safe online. While the internet provides many positive opportunities for learning, communication and entertainment, it is important that young people understand how to use it responsibly and safely. We encourage parents and carers to continue regular conversations with their children about their online activity, including the websites they visit, the apps they use, and how they interact with others online. Working together, we can help ensure that students enjoy the benefits of technology while understanding and managing the risks that can sometimes arise.
Please support your child to bring a water bottle to ensure they can keep hydrated over the coming weeks of the Summer term.
year 9
Please support your child to bring a water bottle to ensure they can keep hydrated over the last week of the Summer term. We wish our Year 9 students a lovely Summer break.
Year 10
It has been wonderful to hear such positive feedback from students about their Work Experience placements and we are particularly delighted to learn that some students have secured permanent part-time employment as a result of their efforts. Please could you encourage your child to complete their Unifrog placement log and reflection so that they can record and celebrate this valuable experience.
During assembly students were reminded of the importance of using some of the Summer break to prepare for what will be a busy and significant academic year in September.
We wish all students and their families a well-earned and enjoyable summer break when it arrives. Please support your child to bring a water bottle to ensure they can keep hydrated over the last week of the Summer term.
year 11
Good luck to all Year 11 students for their exam results in the Summer!
year 12
YEAR 13
We would kindly request that students return all of their textbooks and their lanyard by 12.35pm on Friday 17th July. We wish all of Year 13 a wonderful extended summer holiday!
