2024 GCSE and other level 2 results

King Alfred’s Academy were delighted to pass on congratulations to our Year 11 class of 2024 who have achieved a pleasing set of results once more. Students demonstrated commitment, hard-work and resilience which has led to success across a broad curriculum for those who picked up their results today after five years of hard work.

As a result of their efforts, 66% of our cohort have achieved at least 5 GCSE or BTEC qualifications at grade 4 or equivalent with over 128 students achieving 10 or more GCSE or BTEC qualifications seeing 37% of all students taking Biology, Chemistry and Physics as separate individual GCSES. Furthermore, we are pleased that, once more, two thirds of our cohort have achieved the critical benchmark of at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths with our Pupil Premium students performing particularly well in this area

2024 A Level and other level 3 results

Headteacher Jonathan Smart was delighted with the 2024 A Level and BTEC outcomes, and keen to praise the focus and commitment shown by this cohort of wonderful Sixth Form students. Nearly 30% of the grades at A-Level were an A*or A, with nearly 60% of BTEC grades being a Distinction* or Distinction.

As well as impressive overall results, we also had some outstanding individual performances with two students achieving A*A*A*A, over 20 students achieving at least one A*, and over 45 students achieving at least one grade A. A number of our students have completed fascinating Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ) alongside their A-levels, with over 60% of the grades at A* or A. The EPQ is a good way of obtaining a lower contextual offer from Universities as well as being a key qualification when applying for an apprenticeship. Our EPQ successes show that this is a key element of the curriculum offer at King Alfred’s Sixth Form.
